Hey all, its been a while but now im back into production!!
Anyway, im filming a scene where a man slashes a womans wrists which are tied together and resting on a table. Ideally id like to show this in full without cutting away and back again.
How do you think this is best achieved??
Many thanks ?:D?
Matt
You could hide a squib of blood with the ropes and have the cutter cut it. Probably won't work for a closeup but should for long or medium shots. Depending on the table you could move the camera below table level and have the blood drip off the edge or through the boards of the table.
The otherway is to cut a hole in the table and have the actress put her hands through. Then make fake hands that you can cut. Hide the seems using the rope.

Thanks RJ
Hiding a squib would work because the shot is medium, great idea!
Anymore, keep em coming ?:D?
If you need a lot of blood, you could hide a small rubber tube in the ropes and run it down through the table.
I once did a throat slitting that was both incredibly simple and very effective. We hid a rubber tube (from an aquarium store) under the actors shirt collar. The tube was filled with blood and the other end was attached to a garden hose. The water pressure forces the blood out (either slowly or with tremendous force - however you want it). Of course you would have to cut away before the water starts coming through.
