On a completely different note, I'm seeing Sennheiser ME66's as low as 200 range, and as high as 455. That's just a cursory glance, but it makes me wonder at the quality of the lower priced ones.
Are they somehow worse? Or is it just simply old fashioned competition between vendors?
EDIT: I'm noticing some vendors selling the shotgun capsule separate from the powering module, which I assume is a requirement to get mic to operate. Together they equal around 455...the pattern is coming into focus! 😉

The power module will work with all the different Senheisser mics. All professional sound recordists have several different mics in their kit but usually only one power module is needed.
