Hello

I wonder whether anyone would be able to help me.

The film I am working on at the moment has a scene in it which requires a light cord to be pulled and then the lightbulb to blow.

Any SFX or non-SFX solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

FC

Option 1
If it is in a dark room (the room is dark once the light is off) just have the actor walk over, and tunrn out the light. Then, in post production, add a breaking sound. (a baloon pop with small fragments of glas hitting surrounding surfaces)

Option 2
First off, fake the light by using off scene lamps facing the actor, when they turn the light off, turn off the lamps. Have the actor act as if the light exploded. Then film the same seen over without the actor in the shot (DO NOT MOVE THE CAMERA) but this time, shoot out the light with a bebe gun or somthing to make it pop. In post production, split the 2 scenes together to make it look as if the actor is there when the light pops.

If all els fails
Take out the light, add it in with CGI and animate it bursting. Or you could go totaly nutz and plant a squib inside the bulb and set it off, just dont do that with the actor (or anyone els) near by.
