Ok, i just bought my first new mic. It is a Sennheiser ME66. I got it through Ebay for a good price. I am very excited. But I just read something online that has me a little worried. I have heard that it is a very hot mic and it should only be used with the proper mixer. Now i plan on plugging it right into the camera because i cant afford a mixer. I dont start filming for about two weeks and i have just enough money to buy another mic. So, here are my questions
1)Should i buy another mic? possibly a Audio Technica AT-55?
2)Is it really that hot of a mic or are people exagerating?
3)If it is that hot then is there a way to still use it without a mixer and have all the feedback?
I am not really an expert on sound, i have never been in charge of sound for a production yet so i am new at it. Please help. Thanks

I use the ME66 directly into my camera sometimes and have had no problems at all. My advice is the obvious: Plug it into your camera and record some lines being spoken. Try different level settings until is sounds good to you.
