In a future movie I will be writing, I am going to be adding swords to teach myself the finer aspects of melee combat directing. Specifically I would like to find myself some samurai or ninja swords that aren't sharp but still look authentic. I've looked on the web and the replicas there seem to be sharp enough to actually hurt someone, and I wouldn't want my actors to actually die on me. Any websites come to mind? Suggestions? Books on sword smithery?
well a peice of metal being swung at you at a fast rate will hurt you in some way. But maybe you can buy the replica's and grind the sharp parts, so its dull and "flat" so it has no pumcture capabilities, or cutting.
