Just a few questions...

1. How good of a camera is this for a beginner film maker?
2. Does anyone have any footage shot with it? I searched youtube and found a ton of footage of the HVX200, just not the HPX200.
3. A connection of mine is letting me rent this camera from him for $15.00 an hour, I'm sure this is a great deal. Correct?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

You were my best friend. You were also the best "Drake Johnson: Killing Machine" I could of cast.

Interesting. I had never heard of the HPX200 - I still can't
find much info on it. It's a tapeless (P2 only) camera and
seems to be distributed in South Africa. I found one picture
of the HPX500 which is a shoulder mount camera. That's
something that - as a pro shooter - is very important to
me. But I couldn't find anything about the sale price. B&H
carries a case for it, but not the camera. Is it a PAL camera?
I found a spec sheet in French for the 500 but nothing on
the 200.

If the 200 is similar to the 500, it's a pretty sophisticated
camera for a beginner. If you're used to automatic cameras
this one is going to take some getting used to.

$15/hr is reasonable. That $180 for a 12. If he's letting you
rent on an hourly then it's a great deal. If you only need it
for 2 hours you only pay $30. Very cool.

Check out Panasonic's website and you can see the MSRP and Tech Spec's.
