First of all hi to all of you here, as this is my first post.

I have been so lucky to be able to borrow a film camera, not even sure of the name, looks like it is made of two different parts or something, but here is a picture if it helps:

?url? ?/url?

My problem is that when I am filming I get so much unwanted noies and jittering. It basicly looks like it have been filmed on a bad camera, which should not be the case, as the firm that owns the camera use it in production.

I have been using miniDV film for it, I even tryed to use a cleaning tape, but that did not help. It is possible to use normal film on it as well, the firm owning it uses that. So i am thinking of trying that.

Are there some setting or am I doing something wrong? I basicly know nothing about film cameras and I soon have to give it back again.

Thnks in advance

There could be three thinngs wrong.

1. The camera may not have a good playback feature, and only sound bad on the camera.

2. You are not using a shotgun microphone and you are picking up background noise.

3. The camera could have a malfunction, and you may have to get it repaired.

If you provided us with more information, like the settings you arer using, and the kind of scene you are working with, we could be better able to help you.

By the way, how much did the camera cost to rent it? Where did you get it?

When the script writing is done, the work has just begun. When the filming is done, the work has just begun. When post-production is done, the work has just begun. When the distribution is done, you decide if the work is done.

I think I have found the problem.

I used my personal camera to transfer the movie file to the pc, which is a miniDV camera ( Canon MV750i ) and the big one is a DV camera, so there are some difference in the way the film is saved on the tape. If that makes sense?

There are no sound, I have turned it off. Also I am not sure how to playback film on the big one. Dont want to puch to many buttons:P

Accualy I did not have to pay for it. I was calling around asking different firms/schools if they had a camera I could borrow/rent. I am currently finishing my last year at high school, so my budget are extremly limited ( very close to zero ). This one firm asked what I needed it for and I told them that I was going to make a shortmovie with some digital effects for my university portofolio(want to study digital effects/3d design). So they told me to come down to their office for a short job intervue. I showed them my litle reel and talked abit and ended up with this camera free of charge for a few days and a client, as they very interested in haveing me as they freelancer. Whoho, my best day so far in life 😀
