I've been working on a movie called The Things in the Woods, which is a horror movie spoof. I'm doing it basically zero budget, with a cheap DV camcorder. Basically, the entire movie takes place at night. I found that I can do pretty convincing day-for-night shots if I use Zwei Stein (a very powerful free video editing program) for color correction. Unfortunately, there are a bunch of shots with people shining flashlights around in the dark. In the daytime, the flashlights look extremely dim. What would the best way to shoot at night with flashlights be?
Also, is there any way to eliminate the vertical streaks you get when you film bright lights in dark rooms?
