DO YOU KNOW ANY LIGHTNING TECHNIQUES TO ACHIEVE A DARK, SAD, DRAMATIC MOOD?

Place your key light high, use reflected fill and keep the background lights subdued. Slashes of light on a wall, or pools of light in an exterior shot can look nice.

Just remember mood backwards spells....

A basic technique to lighting is to just go with what you think looks good within the contect of your script etc.
