Never used a mixer before, looking to buy one for indie filmmaking, at least for making short films in the near future. Thoughts on this model:

I have a Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic, carbon fiber boom pole, Canon XH-A1 HD camcorder. I am learning that I need a mixer/amp with headphone jack so boom operator can monitor audio from mic, adjust gain, etc. OK I am not rich so the model at the link above is $350, for one mic, seems it would be good for starting out. Thoughts/advice? Alternate model of mixer to consider?

Before you buy try looking at the mixers at Guitar Center. They are basically the same thing but for some reason the world sees musicians as starving and filmmakers as wealthy and the prices often show this bias.
