Hey,
I'm just starting out with filming and I was wondering if someone could help me out.
I have a Canon ZR60. I'm very happy with it, but I find that the built-in mic is crap. I was wondering if someone could suggest some cheap external mics for me. I'm looking for something under $100 (blew all my cash on the cam). I realize that this won't get me anything amazing, but I just want soemthing that's better than the built-in.
Can anyone help?

I've heard that the Audio Technica ATR-55 is reasonable. But remember, you get what you pay for. The more expensive you go, the better the mic will be. If you are serious about getting good sound, look for a mic in the 200-300 dollar range.

The Aussie is on target! It depends on how serious you are for getting good sound. If you just want something better, that won't be a problem. However, if you want something that people don't mind hearing, you're looking at approx 300 bucks.(ME-66)
Good luck, MoonTower.
