So I have the JVC HD110U and I pull focus before every take. I also use its focus assist option.
When reviewing the footage though every other take is out of focus. I'm thinking it has something to do not with the manual focus ring but the manual macro focus ring (the one closest to the body of the camera).
How do I correctly set this focus ring? Any suggestions/advice etc. would be appreciated!

It's odd that every other take is out of focus. I've never heard of anything like that.
Make sure the back focus ring is tight. That might be the problem.
