I have a project in which several senior-seniors will be interviewed. The primary focus is three people who are in the mid-70s to mid-80s range. We're really worried about getting effective interviews because of concerns about light heat, sensitive eyes, etc. (It'll really break down if the interviewees are complaining of heat and squinting the whole time.)
We feel pretty good about being able to make our subjects feel psychologically comfortable, but we're anxious about them being physically uncomfortable.
The entire production and creative "crew" (my wife and I) were hoping to shoot them in their home to help them feel comfortable and also to get a flavor of their personality into the shot.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding light placement, alternative setups, "coaching" techniques, lighting off-camera areas for them to look at... or anything else that might make the shoots come off cleanly?
We're shooting on a CanonXL1s and have a Lowel kit that includes softbox, pro, omni, and tota all available. Our scenarios and tests have involved one key and one fill light.
Thanks to anyone w/ specific advice!
