I was wondering if there's a difference betwee Sony HVR-Z1E and HVR-Z1U. Is the difference just for marketing?
Also what is the best portable data storage device for Sony Z1E on Pal system? Is it Firestore FS-4?

As I understand it there's no difference other than warranty: any Z1 should record both PAL and NTSC and can be used worldwide.

DV tape... though hard drives would eliminate the dropout issue. I'm not sure which of the Firestore drives is compatible.
