Hey guys , in order to make a 20 min short how much shooting do you need? To have enough scenes to edit them in the way you want to. How many times you shoot one scene? How much footage did you record and then after editing ended up with a 20 min short? I would figure maybe 4x as much as the edited version? I would think each scene shoot at least twice, then some other extra scenes that didnt end up in the short?

Could be anywhere from 1x to 100x, depending on how you shoot it. I normally expect about a 10x ratio for a low-budget shoot on DV, maybe 5-6x on film by rehearsing more and shooting less takes.
