I wanted to try doing the green screen effect. I see that you can buy a green screen package on amazon.com for just over 100.00
Don't mind the investment if I thought they were any good...some come with lights, material and stand.

Anyway in the meantime is there a good way to try it out before investing? That color green is hard to come by and the local material stores dont sell it.

Or has anyone bought one of these packages from amazon...what do you think?

I saw plenty green screen kits on Amazon, below, as well as above $100. Common thing is the screen itself (some muslin or similar material), supporting frame, and usually a few lights. I'm not quite sure how professional these are, since they are so cheap.

On another forum, I recently found an interesting thread, with one of the participants describing his own research into this. He went into Home Depot and took some paint swatches for Benjamin Moore and Behr paints. He discovered that two particular shades of green (one from each brand) were giving extremely good results, absorbing almost ALL red an plenty of blue. They were:

Benjamin Moore 2032-10 ("Neon Green")
Behr S-G-440 ("Green Acres")

If you are a handy person, spending $10 on a bucket of paint and a few more $$ on some cloth-like material might likely give you similar green screen quality as the cheap stuff from Amazon. You'll still need lights, of course.
