I understand when you take good food and film it, it usually comes out looking gross on film. So when filmmakers want food to look delicious, they do special things to make the food look better on film - which in reality would make the food taste terrible. Are there any websites with info on that? If I wanted to make food look especially tasty in a video?
interesting question... i don't know about websites, but i'd just study the foodnetwork and see how they do it. that and movies like 'big night', or 'eat drink, man woman', etc...
i'm thinking that it would be wise to avoid stuff with heavy sauces, and that are really runny.

As far as I know, there is only one book about the subject of food styling- it's called Food Photography and Styling by John Carafoli. I shoot a lot of food commercials and have found this book invaluable.
