Hi guys,

I have just written my first screenplay and I have a question about cinematography. How is it possible to film a shot behind a person looking into a mirror, and not have the camera in the mirror as a reflection in the background?

Thanks alot,
Ezra

The only way to do this in-camera would be to hide the camera, so its not obvious. Or use a effects program to either paint out the camera, or use a blue screen instead of a mirror and film the actors reflection seperatly.

There is another way.

Angle the mirror. Even a 3 or 4 degree tilt will move the camera out of view. Move the actor slightly off center and have them look at the reflection of the camera NOT his own.
