They're all very good, rather gladiator-esque ideas but the beginning of this film isn't going to be as deep as that really. I should give you a short synopsis of what is happening during this crowded fight scene.

Basically, two undercover cops have arrived at a terrorists' base, which is an old, dilapidated mansion that they have captured by storming the building and shooting everyone inside it. When they arrive, posing as two lost men who are interested in joining the gang they, notice that two men, Atticus and Cordore are having a duel, surrounded by a large crowd and using rusty scrap and sharp utensils to fight to the death. The cops start speaking to some of the gang members and find out that the men are fighting because Cordore has been accused of being a traitor by Atticus, their leader. The men also hate cops and know that Atticus is renowned for his anger. The cops then rush off to talk in private as the two gang members fight.

That's basically the beginning for you. The fight's meant to look very grotty and painful instead of being a noble battle to the death. I might be able to get away with fast-cutting and shots from above to hide the crowd's lack of people but I'd prefer to use programs and technology to make the crowd appear large.

Does anyone know any programs for merging the images together so that the people are duplicated? And how much will they cost?

Many thanks.

You want painful and gritty I'd go for some quick closeups of the weapons, and the faces of the combatants, especially when hit. Most of the other suggestions on this thread will work in some form or another except my previous one as the combatants aren't the center of action and that one certainly depends upon that.

Yeah, I know the slow-motion thing won't work and I'm not a huge fan of slowing down clips because they look a bit cheesy nowadays if they're not done correctly or overused although it certainly works very well at dramatic moments. Anyway, still does anyone know a good program like the one I asked for before? Just in case I need it.

Any ideas?
