I will be shooting in hawaii at the end of the month for three days. I'm new to the sound world and while the actual footage doesn't have dialogue I would like to capture some of the amazing sounds while I'm there. I was wondering if anyone knew of a cost-effective (cheap, ha ha) mic that will work for a sony mp3 player. Where to get one would also be helpful knowledge.

I figured it out myself...I need a mic for a mini disc player, not a mp3 player. i found the sony ecm-ms907. Everyone that I talked to loved it and the price is reasonable for what it does.
