Hi. This may sound very stupid but i was just wondering if there's a way a film can be made by just using natural light? I'm looking to make a film with a bicycle thief type of look.
Thanx...

Good weather, set mostly outdoors, and a bunch of reflectors (even if it's just polystyrene roofing tiles).
Movie film stocks at 500ASA aren't horribly grainy, so provided you have some windows near the action you can probably even shoot indoors with them, while using slower speed film outside. We used Kodak 500 ASA for my 16mm short, and most of it was lit with a Maglite... the result was grainy, but acceptably so.
or just shoot with a dv cam.

Just out of interest. But what would happen if i shot a film without lighting it?
Hoping for a reply

Most likely it would either look black or crappy :).
Lighting is one of the most important parts of making a movie, if you want it to look good. Even if you have enough light to see the action, it's unlikely to look like a half-decent movie if you don't at least have a few reflectors to light up the darker parts of the shot.
Steven Soderbergh is known for his frequent use of natural light. If its your style, make it look intentional so Mark won't laugh at you 🙂
