Hey everyone,

I'm working on a deal with my family to get a nice prosumer digital camera for Xmas this year, and I was hoping to get some advice on the best product. This may be pushing it, but I'd say the price range maxes out around the $2200 range...

BTW, I'm putting together a pretty serious documentary with some colleagues... so I need the best quality for the best budget.

Obviously a big question is whether or not I should go HD. I like the Panasonic, but the Sony is perhaps more cutting edge visually. Both seem to be excellent, but looking for that extra insight and/or other recommendations. Thanks.
