I went with miniDV (HD camera) tape because I believe it records the most detail, and DVD or HDD I heard really can eat up battery power fast (so buy extra batteries, esp. if on location and you can not plug in). Of course if you are really rich and don't mind swapping memory cards there are cameras that only use memory cards, big ones, expensive ones.

P2. Expensive yes, but all so useful.
I would suggest going with the MiniDV format as well. None of the footage is compressed and they are easy to bring around and use.

When the script writing is done, the work has just begun. When the filming is done, the work has just begun. When post-production is done, the work has just begun. When the distribution is done, you decide if the work is done.

Hehe, if you have an unlimited budget, get The Red,
http://www.red.com/
a whole new leap in digital, huge resolution meaning huge storage requirements, PC requirements. The camera looks like a monster, huge, funky. Any rich people here willing buy a poor filmmaker like me a couple of Reds??? Pretty please??? 🙂
