I just got a wireless lavalier set (two lavalier mics with wireless transmitters, receiver unit). The receiver unit runs on 12V/500mAmp transformer that plugs into a standard 120V household outlet (USA). But what if I want to use this out remotely in the woods or on the beach? What kind of power source would I be looking to get to somehow do this? Do I just go to Home Depot or some hardware store and get a battery pack that has a 120V outlet?

I would think the receiver would not suck too much power, so it should be able to run for several hours off a battery pack, right?

I don't know if I'm doing this right but I think that the battery has the ability to power one of the reciever units for 50 hrs. I may be wrong. It will probably come out to less than that what with LEDs and such on the battery, but you should be good. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Since the receiver takes 12V, do you think I could get some sort of power adapter to run off the cigarette lighter of my car, for when the car is accessible near the shoot that is out and about away from a plug in power source? Perhaps a trip to Radio Shack or some electronics store is needed?

Just two days ago I bought an adapter like that for $25 from amazon. I think you're looking for something like this, though unfortunately I can't find what I bought
