Yeah, it was pretty cool. Reminded me of counterstrike. Is it just me, or are some of those soldiers completely cgi?

i don't know but I didn't get that impression. I got the impression they raided a surplus store and mixed and matched the equipment very nicely to give a more realistic dirty infantry soldier. Chose either WW2 or Kevlar helmets to help differentiate the two sides. Used a storage container as a dropship. And CGI'd a lot of battle damage to buildings and things. But the guys, I got the impression they were real.

yeah they are, im thinking it would have been easier to green screen the same person a couple of times and stickem in. again i think its more of an effects test.
though MACV, what you said about band of brothers and how you know where everything is, is so true.
the second part o the day of days episode (2nd episode) where they assault the 3 gun batteries.
- we always seem to know where everyone is, its not just a marvel at how many people there are, in fact there werent even that many (compared to saving private ryan beach scene). i suppose there are short moments where the two commanding officers say whats going on, purley for the sake of telling the audience, they are almost monolouging.
in band of brothers, there is always almost an objective, a point which the plot revolves around (eg the german gun batteries), where as in this mini film, there is on objective, the drop ship lands, but there is no central point to attack
i think also, the 3 legged peeps were very limited in costumes, they had 2 (good guy and bad guy) so it is impossible to identify between ppl.
