Shot some footage of sand dunes and dune grasses at sunrise along Lake Superior lakeshore, I just have to report for anybody interested that the footage was amazing, very much with a film cinematic feel, I almost expected Kevin Costner to come walking over the ridge like in Dances with Wolves. I am very impressed with high definition digital shot at 24p. I am anxious to film my first shorts (I wrote 5 scripts last month, gathering props, location scouting, will find the actors in a couple of weeks and then shoot). I am sure the film look is there at 24p for just about all HD digital camcorders. I have yet to try the black pro most filter I recently acquired.

I am uploading a clip now, will post url later when it is done. It will not be HD, which defeats the purpose somewhat, I had to downsize it to 720x480 or the bandwidth for downloads would sap me for my monthly quota.

Here is a 720x480 one minute clip, originally show in widescreen HDV and subsequently downsized. I also boosted the color saturation and contrast slightly, although much of the color is natural because I was at the beach at dawn to catch the magic hour of warm hues. I added in a subtle soundtrack just to start playing with that skill.
