How much film is need to film a 16mm feature about 80 min?

Only if you shoot the entire movie in one shot with one take :).

Ten to twelve hours is far more realistic: and a lot more expensive.

4 to 1 shot ratio is normally a good buffer. 320 minutes. If you are looking at 16mm shooting, make a cost analysis between development and buying a HDV camcorder.

Make something on video, and then judge your footage to final edit time ratio.

You'll then get an idea of what you'll need.
