valrick,
in the states that camera is an gl2, a few of my friends have used that camera over the last couple years in shooting ski films 'movies' if you will. it is a major work horse (runs well in all conditions, temps), very duarable, reliable, and canon piece of mind. but, i feel the picture quality is not that great for a three chip. i would be tempted to look for a panasonic dvc80, which was recently dicontinued, or a sony pd 150, pd 170, vx2000, or vx2100 (the sonys shoot nice low lux). that is my two cents. but, again. i think that the gl2 will be reliable, and if the price is right... you should go with it.

What do you think about the Sony DSR-PDX10? (link below)

I was considering it as its Sony (well know name) and it would be very portable. Also it's in my price range.
Let me know what you think,
Valrick

i think that that would be an excellent choice. it is a high level prosumer camera with excellent audio options. a very good friend of mine does commercials in L.A. with a small outfit and they always have one of those on the set. it is forgiving, manual, inexpensive, all around great.

I'm the happy owner of a freshly arrived VX2100. I can vouch on the low lux conditions this camera can handle! Way less noisy than the Canon I tried before (GL2), shoot some footage in S. Peter here in Rome, and down the tombs of the popes, I was taken away by the results...
Again, just my twoppence...
