Here's something I've been working on.

A man is loading boxes into a storage container. The boxes are retail

packaging for robots. The man loads the last box and closes the door

to the storage container . An official looking person in a uniform

locks the door, and places a sticker on the back door that reads

?Recalled Droids, for disposal.? The official looking man signs a

piece of paper and hands it to another man. The paper is a receipt

for the robot, and means the man no longer owns the robot.

A small girl opens a door into a home. She is loud and running. She

wants to find her droid. It takes her a few moments to run through

the house and realize the robot is no longer there. She begins to

cry. A woman, the girls mother enters from another room, she tells

the girl that the droid is gone and that it can't come back. The girl

continues to sob and asks why. The woman tells her most of the droids

in the country had been recalled. The girls asks why again. The

woman tells her that droids aren't safe anymore. The girl asks why

again. The woman tells her that a droid did a terrible thing and

killed many people.

A droid rolls into a building. There are people here but no one pays

any attention to this droid. The droid carries a bag into a crowded

inner room. The bag explodes and the building is destroyed. Sirens

begin to go off around the building as police, ambulances, and

firetrucks arrive.

A man sits in front of a desk giving a report, the previous scene

continues to play on a screen above the mans shoulder. The man says

that all droids that contain a certain computer chip are to be

recalled. The chip was designed to allow droids to respond more

accurately to peoples emotions, but that it had the side effect of

making droids unstable.

The trucking carrying the recalled droids is driving down a street and

hits a pothole the door opens up for a moment and a single box falls

out.

A teenage girl is driving a car and holding a pda. She is scanning

for wifi networks. She finds a signal and drives to get closer to it.

She stops along the side of the road and gets out. She walks around

looking for the source of the signal. She finds the box, realizes

what it is and quickly puts it in the car and drives off. She takes

it to an apartment, she gets the droid and its equipment out of the

box, she looks it over carefully, she tries the power button but it

doesn't come on. She hides the droid and its equipment. It's dark, a

small blue light shines around the robot. The robots eye moves and

zooms in and out, then the blue light shuts off.

The girl is speaking into a cell phone, she is inside of a mall. She

is telling someone about the droid she found, she is trying to sell

it. The person on the other end of the phone call tells her he might

be able to buy the droid, but that they need to meet in person. She

agrees and ends the call. She enters a store and buys a small tool

kit.

The girl enters her apartment, sets down the toolkit on a desk and

gets the robot from its hiding spot. She places the robot on the desk

and sits down. She plugs a cord into the robot and into her pda. She

is frustrated that the robot wont boot up. She puts the pda down and

leaves the room, while she is gone the robots' eye comes on and scans

the room, it turns off before she gets back. She asks the robot what

its problem is. The robot beeps and flashes its blue light. She gets

very excited and runs to the robot. The robot shuts off again and

pulls himself in almost like a turtle.

The girl strokes the robot and begins to talk softly to it. She tells

herself that since it's a child's toy, then she should speak to it

like a child.

This film cost $31 million. With that kind of money I could have invaded some country.
