I have recently revamped my myspace profile. View it and let me know what you think. www.myspace.com/b31_film_productions

Also I'm looking for other people with profesional looking myspace sites, in order to create an unofficial filmmaking.net myspace network.

I see this as a good idea as I set up my production companies myspace specifically for networking puropses, but it is also benificcial to other filmmakers as its a good marketing tool. I think it fair to say that I am thinking out side of the box now, as I know what I want to do, where I want to take it and how I'm going to get it there.

I am marketing my production company through posters, flyers and business cards which I reguarly handout to people all over the place. It is due to this fact that I tend to get a fair few people visiting my site, and it's for that reason that it would be benificial for you to be added as a friend, as people can then go straight to your myspace site. Which means that you would have reached a bigger audience that you would not have otherwise.

Let me know what you think of my site and what you think to the idea of starting a filmmaking network. Cheers Cleary.

Personally i think you should make two sites and link them. One for your personal info (music age, height, etc), one for your production company (all film related with a link to you and perhaps others (not talking the friends). Use a similar or nearly identical design for each to give a continuous related feel to them.

They are free after all.

Yeah I know what your saying. Ive got two seperate myspace sites. 1.) my personal site with just my personal friends. 2.) My production companies unofficial website which is www.myspace.com/b31_film_productions which is informal and I use for marketing and networking purposes. What did you think of my site? Cleary.

I hate music on websites, beyond that, visually it looked nice and professional. I particlarly liked the logo thing in the upper left.

Everything looks visually appealing-- Our company (productiontrax.com) does music production and royalty free music, and we decided to use myspace and facebook as marketing opportunities as well. You should absolutely have a professional looking homepage for your company as well as the myspace page. We have found here that people in this business give you more business when they feel comfortable that your company is extremely professional. It is expensive to have a good website created, but very much worth the cost. Good luck to you and your future business.

Yeah I know what you mean, which is new media plays a vital role in my own marketing campagin. Obviously I've got Expensive marketing (Not always as the name would state, just anything that comes at a price.) as well, but its true when they say "The best marketing is free). What other marketing methods have you considered? Cleary.

I'm quiet surprised to be honest that you dislike music on people web pages, I think it makes it that bit more personal. But obviously the big thing about having music on my page is that my target audience immediatly associate (Not sure if associate is really the right word? but it sort of signifies a relation if you know what I mean?) with it. Music means looking at the site from a place of business is problematic.

Pop around to a few production company websites, or any corporate sites. How many have music?

True, but just cause its the done thing, dosent mean that people shouldnt be afraid to move away from convention. Your right about them not having music (I looked like you said), how ever I prefer mine to have a more informal feel. Cleary.
