I'll be shooting a travel/action flic this Fall and Winter.I'm leaving on a 60' catamaran from the East coast going to Bermuda, Carribean, through Panama Canal then up the West coast...ect.
3-4 person crew shooting with 3 Sony HDV's a Canon GL2 and Nikon Digital SLR's.
Our initial plan is to shoot this 1st leg around America to accumulate enough footage to shop it around. Then, with more finacial backing, we would leave for Hawaii, Indo then around the globe on an epic travel journey. That seems like sound logic but I'd like to generate interest and $$ before we leave if possible. Maybe some product sponsors??
I'm new to this site and I'm wondering if any of you "seasoned veterans" could help me out. It seems like such a marketable piece but I lack the Hollywood clout to make it the production it deserves. I just want to shoot it right so we can do with it what she wants in the end. SO any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Checkout my reel on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMN4qvPNHu8
my url is down due to this trip.

thanx

I don't think you need any Hollywood clout to make it the
production it deserves. Check out ?URL="http://www.youtube.com/developexec"?THIS?/URL?. I've been cutting this
documentary filmmakers projects for several years now. He
shoots with the GL2 and has managed to get the DVD's released.

He has sponsors for his current trip/documentary, though hasn't
been able to get financial backing. It's hard to know why, so maybe
you will be able to crack that nut. Perhaps having a crew will get
you a product that someone will be willing to take a financia
gamble on. Mike hikes and shoots all alone.

Good luck. It sounds like a lot of fun.
