Hey everybody, I'm new to the site so any and all help you can offer would be terrific.
I am working with a group of students at Ohio University who are making best-selling author Russell Banks' collection of short stories, Trailer Park, into a feature-length movie. The best part of the process is, this is all for a class. This movie is going to be graded.

Sounds like a fun project. Out of curiosity, how substantial was the amount to the literary talent to option the property? I am trying to secure the option for a fictional piece and the lit agent I am dealing with is asking for the sky when I just want to do a short film based on the author's ideas.
