Hey Guys!
I am new here. I have been teaching myself digital filmmaking and visual effects for about four years now. I use a Panasonic DVX100A, Final Cut Studio, Lightwave 3D, After Effects, and Photoshop. I am wanting to produce a low budget action feature. I really need an idea. If someone already has a completed screenplay, please let me know. But I really just want to write it myself. I just need someone to help me come up with a 2-4 page synopsis. This will be my first feature. I will be hiring a small (very small) crew and once again a small (yeah yeah) cast. I have no professional experience, but I feel like producing a feature and putting it in film festivals and distributing it would help me out. Thanks!
Hey there. Have you ever thought of teaming up with another Production Company to do this feature film? Because I am wanting to make a feature film as well, and have a writer im working with for a script. I also am in the beginnning stages of investors and all that fun stuff. Shoot me back an email at byarbrough?mac.com if your interested. I have a crew that is some what experienced (not in the feature world yet), but I have a very clear understanding of how to do it from start to finish including all the nitty gritty stuff. So shoot me back an email and we can talk.
I might be 18, but watch out, everyone has to start somewhere. I'm just starting a bit faster and bigger. 🙂

Actually, I really want to do this myself. Thanks for the offer though.
No writers around here, eh?
I suspect it's more that you're expecting another writer to do most of the hard work and then write the script yourself. Once you have a decent synopsis, writing the script is relatively easy.
Nothing wrong with that, but hopefully you can understand why few writers are interested.

I'm a writer. Your offer isn't one I'm interested in. I don't have a finished script I would be willing to let you have nor am I willing to come up with a 2-4 page synopsis for you. I either sell my scripts or make the movies myself.
I suspect that most writers fell the same as me, but maybe not. So I wish you the best in finding that writer.

I am willing to pay for a finished screenplay. I am an indie filmmaker, so it wouldn't be a ton, but I really need one soon.
Let me re-word my original post:
I am looking to purchase an action/adventure screenplay that is 30-60 pages long. If someone already has some ideas that they've not turned into a screenplay, I will be willing to pay some for a synopsis.
so i'm just going to state the obvious and say... your probably not looking to make a full length feature.
and my question here is...
why the hell not?
(not that i have any action/adventure scripts to offer... i just like to ask questions)

Well, I am not sure if I can afford a feature screenplay.
One problem we've discussed before is that there's not much of a market for movies that are 30-60 minutes long. Admittedly there's not much of a market for shorter movies either, but that length seems particularly hard to sell anywhere.
You're better off with movies under 15 minutes or over 75 minutes.
I have a screenplay that I'd be willing to sell you. I'm actually currently adapting it because the plot got a little out of hand. It's basically a psychological thriller set inside an underground bunker.
Interested?

OK. I will look for those. I just can't spend all of my budget on the screenplay, which is not much anyway.

I am definately interested. If you could, please send me a brief synopsis. What is the length? I guess I will only be interested in ones under 15 and over 75. Thanks!
I have a beginner-level film script I wrote for a film student a year ago...the production fell through and I currently have nothing else to do with the script. There is minimal dialogue and plenty of chances to test your style and experiment with action shots that you might be wanting to try out. The story is pretty open ended, so you can interpret how it's told however you want.
I wrote an official synopsis for another film sight where I met the student for whom I originally wrote the script, I'll PM it to you. There should already be a message for you. If you're interested, PM me back. We'll negotiate a price over PM if you are interested.
