Hey guys!

I am doing a filmmaking course and I have to have a finished screenplay (5 to 10 pages) by mon. morning. I have absolutely no ideas on what to do. Could you guys throw out some ideas? It needs to have only one or two main characters. Minimal locations. No particular genre. Just something interesting.

Now I have one idea. Tell me what you guys think.

Assassin gets a letter and a blurred picture from a man who wants someone killed.

Assassin realizes that the man his client wants killed is one of his other identities.

Assassin calls his client, accepting the job.

Assassin fakes his own death, along with his other identity's death.

Assassin's client finds out and sees a picture of the man he hired and compares it to the blurred picture.

Client Realizes that they're the same person.

Assassin walks in and shoots the client.

I find it hard to believe that you were given this assignment to do over a weekend. Is it possible you waited until the last minute to do this assignment?

I could pass you a screen play with minimal characters and locations thats been written with practicality in mind, the only thing is that if its a part of your course then your supposed to writte it and plan it all your self, its only a screen play though and hasnt been made so I dont think that it counts as plagurism. give me your Email address if your interested and I'll pass it you to have a look at. Empty room. One character is a teen. he looks like he's tied in a chair, he's terrified, another is older. The older one asks questions. he demands answers. "Where were you last friday!" "I was home doing homework." "Don't lie to me you little punk." He cleans a gun, sharpens a knife or something scary like that but doesn't actually hurt the teen.

It goes back and forth with increasing tension until finally a teen girl comes into the room. She is upset that "daddy" is hassling her date. She takes the dates hand and pulls him out the door. He's not tied up and in fact potentially he's we his pants.

"Be back by 11" the older fellow says. "11:30" the daughter says turning back into the room. When she does this the door shuts behind her. She opens the door to see the kid jump in his car and screetch off.

Dad smiles.

Okay, even better. Reverse it. Have the punk kid yelling at the dad. Intimidating him. Then when the daughter comes in she gives the father grief for hassling another date.

Something to consider-- 5 pages of screenplay formatted as it should be is not much-- write out narrative single spaced material on a word processor and maybe just 1 page will end up as 5 pages of formatted screenplay with some dialogue. Go download Celtx for free,
http://www.celtx.com/
it will let you do the screenplay formatted the way it should be with proper margins and spacing, headings, etc.

Quiet town. Everyone is going about their boring, daily schedules.

Shot of a man dressed in all black sneaking around an alley. He approaches a
lever and pulls it down.

The entire town goes black and white. People are shocked, confused, and
panicked. The town floods out of their homes, offices, etc. and onto the
streets in search of the cause of the B&W color change.

One guy finally wanders down the alley and finds the
lever. He turns it back on and everything goes back to normal. Everyone
celebrates. The man raises his arms in triumph and walks away.

The "man in black" sneaks out into the alley again, turns the lever off, rips
it off the wall, and takes it with him. The scene changes to black and white.
Celebrating people look confused, look to the sky, fade out.

Brilliant, reminds me of the Station ID stuff they do on the Sci Fi Channel.

However, I would reverse it and add a message. The world is B&W and some hippie guy pulls the lever and it goes color. Then a Priest or politician quick-steps over to the lever and puts it back in place. Perhaps with a cop to take statements, to show this is some kind of crime. When they step back another person, devilish smile and all, pulls the lever down. Showing the viral effect of ideas and such. You could even add another step, start with a harsh Film Noir B&W the first time and when the world goes black and white the second time there are a lot of shades of grey.

A bit Pleasantville my way so you'd have to be careful but I still think being short it could be much more powerful.
