Hello All

First of all want to say great forum for people interested in making a go at film.

I have worked in Music production for about 16 years now and am currently getting ready to try my hand at Film with a partner of mine. We currently have moderate financial backing and long standing business relationship with industry finance to help us kick off our project. I have confidence in my artistic ability but I have no experience in File/or Screenplay other then Soundtrack projects.. I was looking for someone who would be willing to take our Outlined idea and help us structure a healthy screenplay. We do have the concept of what we would like to put to film but we need to have it drafted to screenplay standards of a feature length film.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

If anyone is interested and has a little time please contact me by email, or respond to this post with any sugg you may have.

This person you're looking for - the one willing to take your outlined idea and
help you structure a healthy screenplay - will you be paying this person? Or
are you looking for a writer willing to work for free with the understanding
that when you make money, they will make money?

Are you looking for a creative partner - one who will have input into the story
and script, or are you looking for a technical writer who won't have much input
but will draft your outline into screenplay format?

I have a screnplay that I intend on filming which will need a soundtrack. I am new to this as well but one thing I do know is that I will need music, that's a given. What type of music do you write. I guess that depending upon the particular film genre will determine what is needed on your end. I can be reached here or at mddixon712?yahoo.com

Thanks for response

Basically the funding is based on a time table situation, so money is injected to the project as the project progresses. What I wanted to do was get in touch with someone who had writing skills in screenplay and discus The outline and direction we would like to go with the film. We are open to payment depending on what the writer involvement would be, his or her needs, and availability, but it is all negotiable.

I personally would like to have a creative writing partner involved in the process to help shape the concept of the film but I think that would depend on the writer belief in the project, to the above answer this would probably bring fourth a deeper involvement in the project itself in reference to payment. Again that would be open for negotiation.

I don't mind at all the writer having a say so in the structure of the story itself but not to change the vision too much, HOWEVER, being that I am not a screen writer there are things I am sure that the writer would see what I would not in terms of reality when it comes to forming the screen play. Things tend to change based on what we think would be a viable product but again would really like to stay on point with the vision of the project.

Once we are in touch with a writer or writers who may be interested there will be more information on what we are doing.

Hope that is the answer you were looking for.

Hope that answers the question.

I write allot of music but you are correct, it will depend on the film itself,

Are you looking for music already written and played on the radio?

Do you want your own original scored soundtrack?

Again it really all depends on your projects tone and direction.

Hope that helps

I think all of the above options have merit. There are some songs already recorded that I am sure would work, but that's not to say original music couldn't work just as well without all the legalities of paying for music rights, etc. I'm of the opinion that if the music works, it works...regardless of who wrote it. I sent you a synopsis of my story to your email address for your review. You tell me if it's something that interests you.
