Hi everyone!

I've started writing my first screenplay (feature film) just over a month ago. I'm using the free scriptwriting software Cinergy. Currently on draft 2, reaching page 50.

So far I only recieved feedback from friends and family and I'm desperately looking for a kind stranger to just have a quick glance at the script, telling me if the structure looks OK and I'll also send the full story because I'd love to get some feedback on that... In short:

The story is mostly drama. It's about a lonely man in his late 20's who suffers from bipolar and obsessive-compulsive disorders. He befriends a young woman and quickly developes an obsession with her, not romantic but simply a desire to spend time with her and he turns all his attention to their friendship. His mom dies and his life go downhill from there to the point of insanity. It features descriptions of his dreams, daydreams and his quirky approach to life and sanity.

Other than that, are there any writers here who write in English but it is not their first language? My first language is Hebrew but I prefer writing in English and often find it hard to express myself. The main problem is I think I have too many dialogues but I'm not sure how these things could be 'said' without actually being said, if you know what I mean (see, I find it hard expressing myself lol)

HELP! 🙁

Thanks in advance,
Liron.

Welcome to filmmaking.net!

The way you describe your story it sounds a lot like "As Good As it Gets"
I'm sure it's very different and I understand that expressing yourself in
English is a challenge, but since you have chosen to write in English I
suggest you work on expressing your story better.

It's going to be quite a challenge for you, isn't it? But with some work
I know you can do it!

Thank you 🙂

I assure you, except the OCD (with the rituals themselves being completely different to AGAIG), there's absolutely no similarity between my script and As Good As it Gets.. And not just the fact that mine isn't a comedy.

But anyway, I'm doing my best. Thanks 🙂
