hi
looking for some filters as i dont know anything about them need some help or pointed to a how to article.

On the lock stock smoking barrel they had a greeny kind of feel, that must be the filter right? should i just use a contrast one all the way through it? I have limited money. say 50-100 pounds. I hear post can do everything, so why bother with filters?

The safest way is to add the filter in post, that way if you change your mind you can switch to a different look. But if you're sure it's what you want, then you'll probably get a slightly better image by using a filter on the camera.

when you say add filters in post what kind of equipment are we talking about? avid? would doogle do it?
It just gets me really irritated when I shoot and it looks like a wedding pic not a film pic, and i think how do they do it, even if there shooting dv.

Well, if you want it green you'd just use the color correction filter and adjust the green levels. Avid's color correction is pretty good.
