I am making a World War II movie and need some inexpensive (under $15) gun props. Because it is World War II, I need M1 Garands, BARs, Thompsons as well as some German Weapons like MP40s, MP44s, and Kar98ks. A machine gun from both sides also. Any suggestions and links? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Airsoft guns are commonly used for low-budget productions like yours. You'll have to do some research for yourself, but as far as I know, there are no low-budget airsoft guns that fit that time period. Do your rese3arch, but it appears your only option is cheap toys. Do your best with them.

I just buy airsoft guns and modify them. Like buy stryphone/plastic, cut it up, sand it down, paint it black, dry brush a bit silver on it and it looks as good as a real gun.

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but you aren't going to find
WWII guns (either replica or rubber) for under $15. You can't
even rent them for under $15 each. I have a couple of links
on my home computer (I'm in the editing room now) that I can
give you. But they are rental only. I don't know anyplace that
sells those kinds of props for the money you can afford.

I know there's a place in Los Angeles that sells modified and replica
WWII weapons, but a MP40 and Thompsons run in the hundreds.

I didn't mention this earlier, but since you probably have few other options right now, www.Kapowwe.com has amazing 1:1 replica WWII guns specifically for movie props, that will work very well. Unfortunately, they are out of your range. Depending on how many you need, and how frugal you could be, you could outfit a whole squad with their weapons for about $1,000. Another option you should entertain, is seeing if there are any collectors or groups in your area that have real/replica weapons they would let you use in exchange for maybe a role in the movie or a credit at the end. Just something to keep in mind.

Contact a group of reenactors. They can be extras and have their own uniforms and weapons. Usually they have enough to kit a few extra people who might show up at an event so you might be able to get uniforms for your actors. They have WW2 reenactors throughout the US. They probably have them in England as well but I'm not certain.
