I just bought a 600w floodlight. I can make it flash on and off with a switch on the back. Does anyone think this is an effective way to create lightning?
I want to have an actor standing at a window. Have someone flashing the floodlight on and off, while I film their face. Put it into post production and adjust the coloring.

The light should be very white/blue. What could make it look better is having a cookie or something that would cast a shawdow of the window onto the actors face. Other than that add a sound effect and it's goond enough.

Well, i'm going to put the light outside, so when it flashes the window frames will be present on their face.
