Hello! Friends,

I am pleased to introduce myself, Mohinder Sobti; I started my career in advertising making print & broadcast materials. I went to the New York Film Academy, in Oxford to study films. I would appreciate to team together with ambitious minds and work on a low (no) budget feature film. I am sure, once we have a film on our profile, we will have an edge into the business of films! Lets give it a try ... 'A man who keeps trying is a man who never fails' so yea!

Please get in touch with me to see how best we can team together and work on a projct. I shall look forward to hearing from you and, wish you all the best. Thank you!

You have instant budget problems if you work with anyone outside the Neatherlands (or maybe Benelux). Hopefully you'll find someone local.

I'd be glad to help.

Since it's going to be low budget I know there won't be any money to fly me out to your country so I won't be about to help during actual production. What do you see someone like me - living in the States - doing on your film?

I thank you for your reply. You have a point, I do have budget related problems and so far do not have any feedbacks from the Benelux region at all!!! The mentality here is not towards low/no budget feature or independant related projects. Hence I was looking forward to team with others outside of Benelux.

Well, the search is still on, so yea! Thanks for your reply and take care.

Have a good day.
Cheers

Hi! I thank you for your reply. I am looking forward to team with ambitious minds out of The Netherlands. I have been trying hard to team with similar, liked minded people here, but failed!!! Out here, the people do not believe in independent/low/no budget films (this kind of work culture/trend is good in the US & UK), hence I was looking foward to team with some one out of EU, altogether!

To start with, I was firstly, looking forward to brainstorm over a story with 1-2 characters, some thing that can be shot in 1-2 locations, preferably indoors thus we have an edge to record the sound into the camera. Edit the project on Final Cut Pro straight to a DVD. Try to market the film in festivals or distribute it with independant distributors.

Having a film on our portfolio will also give us an edge to talk to other independent film financers, show them what we are capable of and who knows if our first project would yield us profits enough to venture on our own!!! any suggestions?

Have a good day
Cheers

If you've got some ideas and locations I wouldn't mind having a go at a script: I co-wrote a low-budget vampire feature last year that should be finishing post-production soon and haven't written a script since.

Obviously it would be written in English, but you could always change the dialogue to the language of whereever you're shooting it.

I imagine you aren't really thinking of doing a movie with 1 character in 1 location but a movie with 2 characters in 1-2 locations could be interesting. Check out "Sleuth" and "My Dinner with Andre" as examples.

You've got the right idea. Many of us here are doing just that. Having a finished movie can help when looking for money for another one. As I said, I'd be glad to help. Where do you see this movie being filmmed?

I thank you for your reply. I agree with you, 1-2 characters & 1-2 locations sound perfect. I can either travel to the UK for about a week or so, in order to work for this film (provided I can share accomodation with others) or, we can also shoot the film in Netherlands (I can arrange free accomodation for about a week or so for a small team).

I would prefer to stick to English as the core language for the film. This will give a wider audience and a market to the film.

Unfortunately, at this moment I do not have any idea ready. I know about the film 'My dinner with Andre' some thing like that would be perfect!!! Or some thing similar for e.g. 'My first blind date with Lexy' ... maybe we can brainstorm over this together some time.

We must also have in mind to try finishing the entire film within a week, in order to keep costs at its minimum low!!!

Any further suggestions?
Have a good day
Cheers
