Hi everyone, I'm just a student filmmaker working on his first production this summer (not school related, I'm doing it for myself) and I'm trying to collect donations from business owners in the town, and the first guy I talked to totally said he'd give me some money, but he wants me to make up an invoce for tax purposes... and I don't know how to go about this. So any help would be appreciated.
Normally an invoice is used for seeking payment for services rendered and/or products supplied. What this guy is looking for would be more of a receipt, simply a piece of paper with a few details on it saying you received a sum of money from him.
The details you should include are:
- Your full name
- Your full address
- The date on which the funds were received
- The amount of money received
- A brief description of what it was for
You should also sign the receipt to verify it was created by you.
