O.K folks I've been planning the story for a while but as I'm on a working holiday and away from the people I'm doing the film with (around August time) I threw this together from scratch last night with a few odd shots from my 2 actresses...Ignore the actual quality of the photos because they are just for show.

www.aviationcafe.net/theidentity (shared website - will purchase unique address soon)

But What I really need help on is the design aspect to make it look like a blockbuster style website...I dont have "flash" software though my desktop publisher has a few flash templates but thats about it. So I guess I need a static site..I can try and embed a video but I dont want it saying youtube.

Well unless you get hosting with a whole load of bandwidth, you won't be able to host the video(s) yourself. If you don't want the honkin youtube tag, try google video or dailymotion, I think their tags are smaller.

Secondly, when I look at that website, I know nothing about the movie, except I assume it's apparently some sort of soft core porno. If it's not, you need some redesign.

You don't need flash to make a good website, just a little design knowledge and dreamweaver or front page. If you don't know design, then there are plenty of free dreamweaver templates out there that you can just redecorate to your liking and post.

Yes i think it does need a bit of improving. Is this film a porn film because if it isnt then you really need to change the pictures as this is what it comes across like.

Try google searching webiste advice there is thoudands of websites setup for help. lokk at other movie websites to get a good idea of the layout and design

I am not sure how to help you like this but if you e-mail me with more information i would be happy to send you some design ideas.

I have come up with some design ideas if you are interested. I have been looking at your site and i could'nt put my finger on what made it look different to professional movie websites. Now i have realised:

Images - Pictures are a must have but when you have an image as a normal picture - shaped like a square or rectangle it doesnt look right. It looks much better if the image say of a person is cropped just around there outline.(see casino royale website below) Or just have one large image as a background. (see Mission impossinle website below)

Background - Your background should not be plain (if it is it tends to be white, you can get away with darker colours but you will need alot of things in the foreground to cover it up. I suggest a image to do with your film (but make it good resolution) Dont have a shot straight from the film. Have a image such as a location then have your main character in front (again just there shape - again see casino royale). If you dont want to do this have some intersting patterns instead of just plain.

Logo - I take it you must have a logo for your film title (if you dont again i have some ideas) so have this at the top. Plain text can make it look very boring.

Buttons - Make sure your buttons arent plain either, Make them the same format and colour as your title.

Quotes - If you have some put soem quotes on your webpage. For example if you have a local paper that said it is excellent put this on the site.

Video - I think you are right you do need some sort of video, i would have a trailer for your film. Some sites have it large in the middle of the page others have it smaller at the side. Its up to you, however if you do have to use a youtube video, make it smaller.

Hope some of that helped, i have lots more ideas and have designed a few quick things myself but wont mention them here as i dont want this reply to turm into an essay!! (actually it might have already done that. Feel free to e-mail me - robmanu7?btinternet.com

Thanks Guys...The pics arent going to be the pics used. I just mean about the tabs and the positioning of the photo gallery pics and colors. Is it true you can host your own video without paying for software? I have Bluehost which is 2000gb per month so a trailer will be my thought for the front page.

the logo will be those 2 girls but in business suits...im trying to make it similar to a secret agent film. No porno lol I dont do that type of work ?:D?

Thanks Rob I'll have a look...I did look at some but they were flash and it got annoying looking at flash because I know I cant do that ?:)? Oh rob did you see my buttons and logo as you ask if I have one? I will make improvements and change the photos. I like making logo's. That james bond one I went on before but it takes ages to load on the persons broadband im on.
I'll try mission impossible ?:)?

That took ages too I couldnt load it but dont worry I'll take both of your advices on ?:)?
