How do you write a proposal for a film or tv show idea? What do you need to write about?

Are you asking about a business proposal - getting financing?
Or how to present your idea?

Perhaps I'm still misunderstanding, but you don't present an idea.

For a film you write the entire script.
For a TV show you write the entire pilot and a detailed outline for
the first 5 episodes.

Then comes the difficult part - getting someone to read the scripts.

So how did the "extendeed edit treatment" go? You never posted back
to my answers.

You basically talk about how you are going to film camera shots. I found that out later on.

Anyways, I was asking because it is for a project and I need to write up a proposal for a show idea.

Really? An extended edit treatment was talking about camera shots?
Is that standard in UK? I?ve never heard of that here in the
states.
