Does anybody have any ideas on how to recreate the crosshairs view through a sniper's scope?

Hmm im not sure but maybe if you have a program that could chroma key and a decent graphichs/animation program you could make it like that
e.g.
or an animated one
add it to your video

And i hope it helps
take a large piece of celophane, and scribe the crosshairs onto it with a big-fat magic marker, and color the dark-circle around it, then, hold the celophane about 2 feet in front of the lens, and adjust for depth of field. Either that, or post-edit it as a double exposure.?:)?
If I knew what a blank was, I'd draw one.
I tried the celophane but i can't zoom in on a target. I dont have a chroma key either.

I noticed in a previous post you stated you have Pinnacle Studio V.9.
Go to MS Paint, Photo shop etc. and create the look you want. Save as a pic.
Go to Studio title editor, then pull the pic into the title, then you will be able to re-size it an move it on your target.
Or Google for pictures, save and follow the same process.
Good luck!

you're right, pinnacle studio can do very basic chroma key if you drag a picture with a plain white background onto the title/overlay track. There's no way to make it blur to fit in with the background so its hard to get good effects but it can work.
