I need a camera (a Panasonic HVX200) for about a month.
Is there anyway I can get my hands on one for free? I can put down some kind of deposit but ultimately I don't want to pay for it. I know this sounds ridiculous but I was wondering if anyone knows of any tricks to get a camera for a month for free?
Are there any tricks I can pull ie. call Panasonic and propose: "I'm starting up my own production company and was wondering if I could try your camera for a while to see if I'd like to order a bunch of them?" etc.
I need one of these cameras (a panasonic HVX200) I'll do anything to get one except pay money for it or commit a crime.
Anyone have any ideas??
A legal but shady way to do what you want is to find a computer/camera store that has the camera you want and a 90 day return policy. Buy the camera, do not damage or mistreat it, return it, repent.
You can try calling Panasonic as you suggest. You never know, I got 9 cases of free beer by calling a Brewery.

do you know how I'd go about contacting them? Like how I'd find the appropriate number to call??
haven't the faintest idea. Perhaps the website has a customer relations phone number you can call.

I told them I was making a movie and I'd seen their beers in a few movies (House of the Dead 2 as well as a Mike Hammer TV movie). I was wondering if (a) I could have permission to show their product (b) if they'd be interested in donating some food or something to the film.
They had me send a screenplay to show I was real, asked for some production stills when i had them, and gave me 9 cases. I believe they give out beers for various events and the paperwork fit into that sort of thing. I've heard of filmmakers getting success from Taco Bell franchises in the way of some food in exchange for credit.
You never know until you ask.
Also Karl Strauss is my favorite beer and they are local to San Diego.
