I've posted this elsewhere, but I'll post it here as well if there are people who haven't heard of this program. Go to www.supportindependentfilm.com and click on the film financing page for info on how to obtain financing for your film. This is a great program and I encourage you all to check it out as well as the many other features this site has to offer. The way that the fundraising works is that you pitch your project in the forum after you become a member, and at the end of the month the other members vote for which project they liked. Three projects are voted in, and they enter fundraising for a month. The site does cost $45 to join, but $25 of that goes to one of the 3 films that you pick that is currently raising money. The money raised will be applied to a production budget for the films. If you have a good project and can advertise to get people to sign up, it will only take 2 people to make back $50. That is if you are confident your project will be voted in. You have to really pitch it and get people interested. So check out the site for more details and no, this is not a scam. I am a member who has a film raising money right now that actually ends on valentines day.
