I am looking for suggestions how to set it up. How to make something short that is interesting to watch.....

Thanks Mies

It's an interesting idea. What is YOUR concept for what those "one minute films" will be? Will you just have quick interviews with lots of kids telling their ideas? Or will you have their interviews Voice-Over your footage SHOWING them doing it? I think that option two is best, so you'd have to sit them all down on day one of your shoot to get your interviews on camera and learn their ideas. Then, you'd have to coordinate them actually DOING one or two of the best ideas and plan a second shoot day. You could potentially shoot just a single day, but you'd have to have a pre-interview day where you talk to the kids about their ideas first. Then you coordinate the "work day." Then, you could shoot the interviews "on set" (instead of at the school) with the "activity" going on behind the kids who are talking. Mix that with "b-roll" of the activities and you'll have a nice piece.

Another added element could be to ask the kids what THEY think that OTHER kids around the world could do. For instance, in addition to seeing the kids from Japan saying and doing their ideas, you also ask them their opinions about what they think kids in, for example, India could do. Then in a pre-camera day in India, you show those Indian kids the video from Japan and get their reactions to that. You wouldn't have to ask the Japanese kids only about India. I'd ask them about as many different countries/regions as possible to give you the best choices because you're likely to get a lot of shrugging and "I don't knows." Kids are like that. 🙂

Good luck!
