I'm a film student currently working on a documentary regarding rape culture (specifically rape jokes in the media). I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice in what I can get away with in terms of showing television clips of the rape jokes in my documentary. I've been researching the Fair Use Doctrine, but I'm a little unclear. Thanks for the help!

Isn't this something you have people at school you can ask?

Forgive me if I am incorrect on this, but I thought film school
would at the very least have teachers who could answer your
questions about copyright. Is that not the case? You have no
teacher in the school to ask about copyright?

I am not a teacher, I am not a lawyer who understand copyright
law and I am not even a fellow filmmaker who knows enough
about copyright law to answer your question in any meaningful
way. I don't know of anyone who posts here who can give you
this kind of legal advice. I'm sorry. It's too bad you don't have
a teacher in your school who can help you.
