I'll be shooting a short next week and I have very little crew. This means I'll have to be DP, cameraman and director. I have never seen a shot list nor do I know how to make one. Anyone got any tips?

Do you have script?
Just like compose, you can make out the list according to sequency of time, creatures, or places you will shoot...
All in one word, you should know what you are going to do tady, tommorrow etc. thats all.

Sure.
You break down your script into shooting days
and scenes. You then decide which location you
are going to shoot first and which scene you
want to shoot first.
Then you decide what shots you want for the
scene; the establishing, CU's of each character,
OTS of two of the characters, a pan at one point
in the script, a dolly shot, inserts - what ever
you feel you need.
Write each one of these down using the scene
number. As you shoot you check them off.

Awesome. The shoot will (hopfully) only be one day. it's a one location short. I'll try breaking it down by scenes. See if that works.
