Hi,
I need to write a contract for a no pay role on my production.
Basically the contract will contain the exchange: The service provided to the production in return for a film credit. The contract will also release the rights of the service provided as required by the production, but will also retain some rights with the contractor (since it is a no-pay gig after all).
I'm starting law school this year, but as of yet know nothing about law. This will be a useful exercise for both my film-making and law careers (if you can call them that).
I have looked around a bit, in the FAQ here, and for contract templates/samples, but have not found anything of much use.
So if someone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.
I did a Google search yesterday, You would be amazed what you could find doing a search.
Good luck!

thanks, I did do several google searches (using keywords 'contract' and sample and template), but there was little of use there.
I did find something yesterday though which might be of some use.
I've started drafting it and I'll post it here, if someone has any experience, if you could give me any info as to how to better it, that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what the purpose of the paragraph beginning "In consideration of the mutual..." is, if someone could clear that up it'd be a big help. I'll go read up on some more law now.
thanks again,

It seems you used the wrong search terms. I went to Google and typed in "actor contract" and found pages and pages. If you try that and still can't find what you're looking I'll post a couple of URL's for you.

sorry, I forgot to mention it's for a production artist, not an actor.
I might look at some of those, but really it's quite different because the artist will be freelancing, doing the work whenever he wants, and then giving it to me by a completion date.
